RECRUITMENT AGENCY

Connecting your vessel with the right crew

OUR VISION

At Pearce Placements, our vision is to support both captains and crew and bridge the gap between readiness and opportunity. For captains, that means having the right team in place and a structure to handle crew changes smoothly. Yachting is dynamic - schedules shift, crew change, and challenges arise, but preparation is what keeps the season steady.

For crew, it's about joining well-run, compliant yachts where safety, well-being and teamwork  is valued. We believe when both sides are supported and strong, positive leadership is in place, life onboard can feel purposeful, professional and fulfilling.

FAQ

Registration

  • Upload your valid documents and keep your contact details updated.

Once reviewed, our team will reach out to guide you.

  • No Pearce Placements can't guarantee placement, but registration helps you get noticed. We’ll support you, while your skills, attitude, and persistence will make the difference.

Training, Documents & Visas

  • STCW95, ENG1 medical, and PDSD are the mandatory basics.

You can add more training as your career grows.

  • most likely: For the U.S, crew typically require a B1/B2 visa.
        •    Only U.S. citizens can work on U.S.-flagged vessels.
        •    For Europe, non-EU crew may need a Schengen visa depending on their nationality. Always check visa requirements based on your nationality and the yacht’s itinerary.

  • Yes, please ensure you carry all original documents when you travel. Photocopies or digital copies are not accepted as a substitute.

Finding Work

  • It depends on the season, location, and your skills. Antibes is busiest April–Sept; the Caribbean/Fort Lauderdale peak Oct–March. Sometimes it’s quick, sometimes it takes longer—patience and persistence helps.

  • Highlight extra skills—massage, carpentry, water sports, or anything unique. These little extras often set you apart.

  • Aim to finish at least a season or your contract. Long gaps raise questions, but 1–3 years on a vessel looks excellent. If the environment is toxic, it’s okay to move on for your wellbeing

Protections & Compliance

  • The MLC 2006 protects crew with fair contracts, safe conditions, medical care, insurance, and repatriation rights. Employers must issue a Seafarer’s Employment Agreement (SEA) and provide PPE.

  • Never. Yacht recruitment agencies, like Pearce Placements don’t charge candidates. You only cover personal documents (passport, ENG1, training). You should never be asked to pay for flights or fees. Be aware of scams
